Month: December 2019

2019 in review: What’re you most proud of? When was your most joyful moment? What was the most hard-won lesson? Who’re your favorite people? What’s exciting you right now? These are the things I’m taking into the new year. (The rest we can leave here.) Chin up.

Today I remembered that transitions aren’t easy. Sometimes it’s too much to think about a whole year coming to an end, another stretching ahead. So I’m going to focus on just this one day. Maybe this one hour. For the next 60 seconds, I resolve to be patient with myself. Chin up.

Good morning to everyone trying to keep it all together as 2019 rolls (over us) to the finish line. A new year is just ahead. Chin up.

Love is a verb (the fiercest of verbs). Love is a contact sport. Love is a practice. Love is soft and hard, strong wind and warm sunshine, comfort and itch. Love is ours to give and ours to receive, and sometimes those don’t line up perfectly but we try anyway. Chin up, my loves.

What gets you up in the morning? (More of that, please.) Chin up.

Good morning. Many days, it’s a slog, but every once in awhile, we wake up to surprise waffles. Life! Chin up.

Joy to the world.
Peace to the world.
Dog kisses, baby smiles, chocolate covered oreos.
Courage to change.
Comfort of a best friend.
Curiosity.
A cushion of goodwill.
Grace for what is and what’s to come, grace for others.
Light for the way.
To the world. To you.
Chin up. ❤️

Good morning. Make a tiny offering today. I will, too. Chin up.

Good morning. Yesterday a dear friend asked me, “how is your heart?” I thought about that question for hours. I considered, I concluded, I revisited. Genuine inquiries are a gift (and a nudge). So today I ask you: how is your heart? (You can respond silently.) Chin up.

Good morning. Hide your cookies, hide your treats. Save me from myself. Chin up.
